Gain Creators / Outcomes

  • If we can shed a more positive light on the culture of entrepreneurship and make the general public more aware, we will be taking a big step towards a society in which talented people will take responsibility and begin thinking in an entrepreneurial manner.
  • By participating in a Bryo programme people with an entrepreneurial itch get out of their ‘gilded cages’ and are encouraged to take risks and initiatives to get the most out of their available talent. To share knowledge, insight, experience and opinions (sharing - give and take – wisdom of crowd).

Activities

Bryo has created a number of innovative methods that enable it to offer unique and optimum assistance for (pre-)starter projects in each stage of the project. The most important of these are:

  1. Assessment and profiling:
  2. Individual retainer interviews and coaching in combination with group sessions and events.
  3. Direct access to a large and growing network of entrepreneurs, service providers and contacts with financial and commercial expertise.
  4. Forum: a digital member section that is only accessible to participants.

Resources

One of the most important challenges in rolling out the project is the fact that we work with young starters with insufficient financial resources available to contribute at the level offered by the process. We ask for only a small financial contribution by the participant. The rest of the programme is financed with public and private resources.
The activities, coaching, and local coordination is managed by regional project coordinators. A project manager is responsible for the overall project management, content, quality and methodology, project development and collaborations (partners, authorities). Next to that Bryo is supported by coaches and experts who help with the project development, methods and knowledge management.

Pain Relievers / Solutions

At Bryo, we are convinced that the only way we can stand out as a region and stimulate economic growth for that region is through cooperation and the coordination of efforts. It is for this reason we want to focus on the starter in the broadest sense of the word and are therefore a complement to other, more specific initiatives that focus rather on the ‘idea’ than on the ‘entrepreneur’ himself. Moreover, we form the critical foundation.
If we can shed a more positive light on the culture of entrepreneurship and make the general public more aware, we will again be taking a big step towards a society in which talented people will take responsibility and begin thinking in an entrepreneurial manner.
How?

  • Motivating entrepreneurship and provide help through ideas and expertise;
  • Networking opportunities with inspirational role models that took the leap of faith and are happy they did;
  • Training and coaching of entrepreneurial competences and skills.

Pains / Challenges

We have one of the best education systems in the world, which allows our youth to develop a great deal of potential. Although we are not always successful in instilling an entrepreneurial attitude in those young people and getting them enthusiastic about entrepreneurship. This is crucial in ensuring the economic future of our country and to help ensure that we are among the most dynamic and prosperous regions in Europe. So we have the resources and the talent, but we fall short when it comes to stimulating entrepreneurship.
Despite the fact that most countries have put in place policies to promote entrepreneurship, a lot of people still don’t see entrepreneurship as a valid career choice. Reasons for this are plentiful: good opportunities at big name companies, lack of basic entrepreneurial skills to assess business opportunities and to develop compelling business models, etc. If potential entrepreneurs do not feel that they have the required skills to be successful (self-confidence), they will not view an entrepreneurial career as a valid career choice.

Already more than 1000 people took the plunge and are now managing their own company. They even show above-average entrepreneurial performances. The most important stages in BRYO are:

  1. Assessment and profiling: In order to select and determine the profile of the entrepreneur we are dealing with, we must assess the entrepreneur’s personality as well as the project. The goal is to select only the best profiles with the ability to learn quickly and who are willing to share their own knowledge, insights, experiences and opinions.
  2. Individual retainer interviews and coaching in combination with group sessions and events.
  3. Direct access to a large and growing network of entrepreneurs, service providers and contacts with financial and commercial expertise has proven to be of great importance in Bryo’s working method. But above all, the participants need the company of strongly competitive and motivating people, a group of like-minded peers. Each commits to sharing their own knowledge, insights and experience, in an authentic way, to benefit the other participants.
  4. Forum: a digital member section that is only accessible to participants. This is where you can ask all types of questions in total transparency.
