Entre Intention Tool: Measuring the Impact of Entrepreneurial Initiatives at the Individual Level

The Entre Intention -measurement tool is developed for measuring entrepreneurial intentions, attitudes towards entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial skills and characteristics, and participation in different kinds of entrepreneurial courses. It is a printable questionnaire and a web-based online tool.

The main idea is to evaluate different factors affecting the development of entrepreneurial intentions during studies. The Entre Intention -measurement tool offers a way to measure the impact of entrepreneurial education and capture the current state of entrepreneurial education practices. The instrument can be used for longitudinal follow-up of individual students.

The instrument has been developed and piloted in Finland. Ajzen’s (1991) theory of planned behaviour was adopted as basis for the development of this instrument. The scales are largely based on Kolvereid (1996).

Pains / Challenges

There has been a wide variety of entrepreneurship education programmes promoting entrepreneurship of students. Higher education in itself should promote entrepreneurship. However, there is a knowledge gap regarding the effects of entrepreneurship education; few longitudinal measures exist. More understanding is needed on how education in itself and different EE programmes affect the development of entrepreneurial intentions.
