Success factors of the good practice:
- Spain is a highly decentralised state, meaning that regional governments (in Spain’s Autonomous Communities) can make decisions regarding their education systems (including aspects of the curriculum). In this sense, this good practice could only be adapted in other regions of Europe that have the autonomy to make such decisions regarding their education system.
- Another success factor is that Catalonia has a strong sense of regional identity, which is an impetus for stakeholder cooperation for improving the region’s socio-economic development and competitiveness.
- There is a relatively intense network of SMEs and businesses in the region that help foster entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship among citizens.
- Finally, a success factor in the good practice implementation is that there is a combination of public and private funding.
